At VolunteerCheck.com, a subsidiary of Employment Background Investigations,
Inc. (EBI), we understand and respect your concern about the privacy of any
information you supply while at our site. We believe that knowledge is the
key to monitoring and protecting how your information is used on the
Internet. This statement sets forth EBI' Privacy Policy and describes the
practices EBI follows with respect to all visitors to this site.
Children (persons under the age of 18) are not eligible to use this site
unsupervised and we ask that children do not register or submit any personal

EBI collects certain personal information from users of this site. Guests
are required to provide certain personal information in order to process a
background screen, and authorized users must provide certain contact and
account information in order to access and download information. EBI may
use certain account information of authorized users to set up accounts and
inquiries concerning background screening. EBI uses this information for
internal purposes (to process your request and any invoices, or to maintain
or update your EBI account). EBI does not sell or rent information about its
customers to third parties. EBI may share contact information with its
partners or affiliates to enable them to conduct background screening. Your
profile information (such as social security numbers and/or date of birth)
in the request form is used by EBI for further verification of persons being
screened and will be kept confidential and will not be shared with any other
party outside of the screening process.
EBI has a number of operational functions in place, including 128-bit
encryption, to protect the confidentiality of personal information. However,
perfect security on the Internet does not exist, and EBI does not warrant that
its site is impenetrable or invulnerable to hackers.
When you visit the VolunteerCheck.com site, EBI sends your computer a cookie,
which is a small file that resides on your computer's hard drive and contains
non-personally identifiable information about the user. Cookies only identify
the user's computer. Cookies allow EBI to make its Web site more secure by
temporarily storing information about your session. This cookie is deleted
from your computer as soon as you log out of the site. You can set your
browser's options not to accept cookies, but this will prevent you from
accessing all of the features of the EBI Web site.
VolunteerCheck.com and EBI does not rent or sell e-mail lists and/or subject
information. EBI may send you e-mail to notify you about your recent request;
this will be sent to the e-mail address you provide to EBI.
Participation in surveys on the VolunteerCheck.com Web site is completely
voluntary and the user therefore has a choice whether or not to disclose
personal information. Information requested may include contact information.
Survey information will be used for the purposes of monitoring or improving
the use of the Web site.
Please be aware that the EBI Web site may contain links to other sites that
are covered by their own privacy policies. EBI is not responsible for the
privacy practices of such other sites and we encourage our users to be aware
